Overview

Our Temple offers in-person Dharma School classes for pre-kindergarten through high school students. Dharma School students will attend the service in our Hondo (main hall) for the first part, and then are typically excused to individual classes organized by class size.

Note: While most Sunday services are livestreamed, and include a Dharma School message appropriate for young people, your child will benefit from attending Dharma School with other students for activities and lessons specific to their grade level.

Dharma School works with our youth to help put the Dharma in contexts that aid understanding. Classes give students opportunities to practice living the Dharma through activities like collection drives, temple service, and family events.  It is a fun and social way for children to grow into the Dharma. preparing them for active and meaningful participation in the Temple.

Your Role

We understand that parent support leads to student success, and we look forward to partnering with you this year. This year we will need parents to volunteer in classrooms each week. Additionally, we will need a few volunteers to help with hospitality on September 8. Please use the email link below if you can volunteer at one of these levels.

Taiko

If you or your child is interested in learning how to play the Taiko drums, BTSD Taiko is hosting a series of workshops in October. More information about these beginning Taiko workshops will be forthcoming and will  be found on this website.
