Kenji Sensei just wrote us to provide this insight into the upcoming event: “This is new material that I'm presenting using the benefits of Shin to help clarify the doctrine,” he wrote. “Bishop Harada felt that the benefits of Shin would be the theme for 2023 and this seminar is laying the groundwork.”

About Rev. Dr. Kenji Akahoshi
Rev. Dr. Kenji Akahoshi served as the resident minister of the Buddhist Temple of San Diego for eight years and retired in 2021. Prior to becoming a minister, he received his DDS degree from UCSF Dental School and practiced dentistry privately in San Jose. He served as the San Jose Betsuin Board President (two years) and was a Buddhist Chaplain in the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for seven years. He received a master's degree from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto and a Masters of Buddhist Studies form the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley, California. He originated (1988) and continues to conduct annual Shin Buddhist Retreats in California, Washington, and Hawaii. He is currently heading the Minister's Support Pillar for the Dharma Forward Campaign.
