July Practices for Bon Odori (Bon Odori Starts Sat. Aug. 3 @ 5 pm)
PLAN NOW to Practice Dances for 2024 Bon Odori
Our Bon Odori at the Temple is even more fun when we can learn new and relearn old dances. In July, rehearsals will be on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Specific dates are shown.
Sundays: July 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 11 a.m.
Wednesdays: July 10, 17, 24, 31 at 7 p.m.
Practices will be held in the Annex Hall. There will be no practice on the first Wednesday of July, that is, July 3.
This Year’s Obon Observances and Bon Odori
Both the Obon service and the Odori (dancing) will be held on the same day., Saturday, August 3.
The combined Obon and Hatsubon Service is scheduled for 2 p.m. in our Hondo, or main hall.
The Bon Odori will open at 5 p.m. in our parking lot: we expect the dancing to start closer to 6 p.m.
SPECIFICS
While more details will be shared soon, others are confirmed. For the religious services, we welcome our speaker, the Rev. William Masuda, Emeritus. Rev. Masuda and his wife have moved to San Diego and are welcome additions to our Sangha. For the odori, we will have refreshments and outside food vendors for the convenience of attendees.
